{ PACKING ESSENTIALS } BACK TO PORTLAND FOR LABOR DAY WEEKEND...

{ Sole Society bag / LL Bean men's fleece / Adidas slides / Raen sunglasses / J. It is with the utmost level of joy and excitement that I report this news: I'm heading back to Portland, Maine for Labor Day Weekend. I am already salivating thinking about all the lobster, fresh lemonade and oh-so-tasty local beers.

I already have enough weekend bags to get me through any trip, but I can't help thinking that I'd really love to pack everything into this easy and affordable vegan leather weekender (just $85!) from Sole Society. It's kind of masculine and ultra-simple, which I love, and the cognac leather color will make it a great option for fall getaways, too.

Knowing how things went on our last trip, I can safely skip any heels, dressy dresses or all-black pieces I might wear in the city. The vibe in Portland is casual and New England prep-centric, so I'll be sticking with easy white denim, crisp poplin and my favorite Adidas Adilette sandals that are great for a day on the water. (I've never been a boat shoes kind of girl, and I never will be.)

The nights can get chilly, so I want to swing by the LL Bean flagship in Freeport this time and snag one of these classic men's fleece pullovers. Other than that? It's all about packing in a bunch of little accessories that can really make a look feel right for this particular setting. I'm going with these sporty 'Remmy' sunglasses from Raen that are polarized—which is perfect for kayaking, paddle boarding, etc., as well as a bunch of bandanas (of course), my vintage signet ring and a small monogramed pouch for going out to dinner.

Last but not least—my favorite "no heat required" hair stuff. I haven't used a blow dryer in months, instead relying on the one-two punch of Bumble & Bumble's texture (un)dressing creme (that creates a matte, piece-y look and if you twist your hair as it dries, beach waves) and Not Your Mother's sea salt spray.

Portland I'm coming for ya... Bring on the lobster rolls!
