Happy Saturday! I just wanted to drop in with a quick recommendation / PSA for your weekend, in case you're hungover, or it's raining or it's neither and you're just incredibly bored of scrolling through the same old stuff in your Netflix queue.

If you liked Trainwreck, you'll probably love You're The Worst. Personally, I'm obsessed.

Like my other new favorite rom-com show, Catastrophe, this show puts a refreshing twist on the traditional boy-meets-girl story. The central lovers, Gretchen and Jimmy, are seriously unlikeable characters. They're selfish and thoughtless and mean-spirited at times—not unlike the goon squad of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia—but just vulnerable enough for you to kind of love them. They navigate proto-typical dating situations with crass language, virtually zero grace and pessimistic attitudes.

Like the ensemble cast of New Girl, once you're drawn in by the central love story, you stay for the side characters. Like Schmit, Coach and Winston before them, respective best friends Lindsay and Edgar provide hilarious-meets-I-can-relate-to-this commentary and side adventures that are often much more amusing than the main story.

I'm willing to admit that I'm not a hard sell when it comes to shows with romantic storylines. I love romance. But, I also like to laugh, and I'm a cynical single girl in New York. I really enjoy the blatant imperfections of pretty much every character on the show, and that not every issue is worked out within a single-episode arc. I always worry for romantic shows because watching two people break up and get together over and over again gets really, really tiresome before two long. Hopefully You're The Worst can keep things spicy.

You can stream the entire first season on Hulu now—which I did in a matter of days. The episodes are a binge-able 30-minutes long, and lucky for us, season two premiered on Wednesday night! Give it a try and let me know what you think...
