{GRAMMYS 2015} LET'S DISCUSS RIHANNA IN GIAMBATTISTA VALLI

{ Rihanna in Giambattista Valli Couture SS15 }

Love it or hate it, this is really the only red carpet look worth discussing from last night's Grammy Awards. Rihanna stole the show on a night where people either look totally safe or totally insane. She was neither—and that's the point.

I understand that this is a polarizing look. She kind of resembles a loofa and a cupcake and tent all at once. However, she also looks so beautiful. This dress is pretty and dramatic and playful and yes, totally over the top. But in a sea of champagne sparkles, black, white and plunging necklines, this gown stood out from everyone and everything.

To perform with Sir Paul and Kanye (this song, obviously), she rocked a slouchy suiting look that was also not your typical sexy singer look—she came across cool, bossy and gorgeous. In an age where it seems like female performers cannot take the stage and wear pants at the same time, you have to give her props for completely rejecting the standard.

The CFDA recently awarded Rihanna with a Fashion Icon award, and if you ask me, it's her ability to look not ridiculous in this dress on the red carpet and chill as hell in a double breasted suit an hour later that justifies why.

*Just for kicks, it's worth remembering that Rihanna has a tendency to KILL IT at the Grammys. Remember this look from 2013? Hot. Damn.

SO, DO YOU LOVE IT OR HATE IT? TELL ME YOUR FEELINGS!

  1. I love it! The dress totally reminds me of a Barbie cake, and very few people can pull that off.

  2. The dress can not show her beautiful silhouette. She deserves better one.
