Next week I'm heading West to Idaho and Seattle for a three-week wedding blitz to celebrate some of my favorite people ever. I've been blessed with the ability to work remotely while I'm gone, and though I love my city, am relishing the opportunity to spend 21 whole days away.
The first leg of my trip will be a whirlwind of a cross-country flight home to Seattle for less than 24 hours before packing up the car and driving East with my parents for my dear friend Alex's wedding in Sun Valley (first time bridesmaid, y'all!). From there, my mom and I are driving to McCall to spend a few days on Payette Lake with family friends. Then it's another long drive back to Seattle for two more weekend weddings and a whole lot of downtime in my hometown.
The whole experience is shaping up to be a healthy mix of celebrating, relaxing, lake swimming and a bit of work, naturally. As you guys know, I can hardly even take a weekend trip without creating a custom playlist, so a sojourn like this clearly requires an epic assembly of music.
The mood I'm channeling is a mix of nostalgia, Pacific Northwest vibes, mountain and wilderness calm, summertime bliss and classic foot-tapping sing-a-long jams. From The Moody Blues to Dave Matthews, Haim and Bonnie Raitt, this mix sums up everything I want this trip to be.
Full disclosure: With this long trip, I may briefly abandon you all. I'll try to keep up with posting, but sometimes a girl just needs to close the laptop and look at some trees for a while. You know?
