{CHEZ SHUT UP I LOVE THAT} SPRING ENTERTAINING WITH NESPRESSO

If there's one thing I know to be true about life in New York City, it's that it cannot exist without two things: brunch and coffee. No, they aren't mutually exclusive, but when really great coffee, delicious pastries and ideal brunch company comes together—that's a recipe for at-home entertaining success.

Earlier this month, Nespresso invited me to take their new Vertuoline machine for a spin and try my hand at some at-home coffee and espresso drinks. Armed with a smattering of mismatched mugs, a few bottles of Champagne and a little buffet of pastries and fruit, I invited a few friends over to get nice and caffeinated... and only a little bit drunk. (It was a rainy Saturday afternoon, what do you want from me?)

Listen, I can cook. It's not that I don't know how—it's that I can't make croissants, and our oven is where we keep our silverware. Rather than attempting to make something I know I can't master in a day, I relied on local experts and my darling friends to fill out our delicious brunch menu. Amanda made crumbly, perfect scones and homemade whip cream, and I sourced our croissants and pain au chocolat from Croissanteria on Avenue A.

{ Want to make your average mimosa incredible? Switch out the orange juice for guava, and add a fresh fruit slice or two. Matching manicure optional. }
