{Under a piece by Kehinde Wiley}
On Friday afternoon last week, Jessica and I escaped Manhattan for the afternoon and had ourselves a little adventure at the Brooklyn Museum. We went to check out one of their current exhibitions, 'Gravity and Grace,' a series of incredible, larger-than-life installations by African artist El Anatsui.
{Looking at the exhibition's namesake piece, Gravity and Grace (2010)}
I fell head-over-heels for this deconstructed Paige Denim shirt when I saw their SS13 preview back in October. It's unlike any denim shirt I've seen before, and I've already gotten an insane amount of wear out of it. For a day of browsing art and strolling the Prospect Park and Park Slope neighborhoods, it seemed like the perfect cool-meets-comfortable piece with my hat, black skinnies and ever-present pea coat.
I've been talking the talk with caps for a while, and now I'm finally going to walk the walk. The print of this one from ONLY NY reminds me of silk boxers or something -- but the linen fabric means it'll be nice and lightweight going into the spring and summer months. I've been following this brand for a while (see two of their winter hats here), so I'm happy I finally bit the bullet and stopped by their store on Stanton Street and picked up this little gem.
All the details: Paige Eden deconstructed shirt (c/o) / BDG jeans / DV by Dolce Vita booties / T. Babeton pea coat / ONLY. ny hat / vintage Ralph Lauren bag / Ray-Ban shades
