I don't know if this happened to anyone else, but as soon as I got a denim shirt, I stopped wearing anything else. Seriously, I wear one of the above two almost everyday. They are a layering piece sent from the heavens above, and this Madewell version I keep mentioning over and over again is the reason I believe so. It's got a long, relaxed fit and perfectly soft feel, one that has year-round appeal. Under warm sweaters or over summer dresses it's just... easy.
My styling attitude right now is still preppy as ever, but with just a little dash of cool, via a pair of beat-up booties, black-on-black aviators and a wool-and-leather cap. And I've probably said it before but I'll say it again: black denim leggings are one of the most important things in my wardrobe, and the Paige Verdugo is my absolute favorite.
Hope you're all having a perfect weekend!

love the vibe of this! the caps especially. effortless style xx

ReplyDeleteHow do the madewell shirts fit- true to size? I wanted to order one online :)
ReplyDeleteHey Christina - i have a small in both because they fit like a boyfriend shirt. I would typically wear a M in most madewell things, if that helps!
DeleteThanks! :)
DeleteThat orange jumper is amazing. Perfect with the brown of those boots and the red of the bag.

to be honest I wouldn't want all of that because I don't think I would have enough space. a. I want a bigger house first and b. the house must have a very exceptionally large walk in wardrobe
ReplyDeleteL-O-V-E my denim button ups. Madewell's a bit outside my price range (and there isn't a store near me, and I'm fairly sure I'm sized out, etc etc excuses) but I have a few awesome ones from Old Navy that feel really nicely made. Which was a surprise since Old Navy is usually a miss for me!
ReplyDeleteI recently found my mom's denim shirt from the 70s and stole it from her! I really like it, especially since it's "vintage," but I do find it hard to wear. It's a bit oversized, and since I wear blue denim jeans almost every day I feel like I can't wear denim on denim. So, when I wear it it's usually with my black jeans and black boots, and a white tank top underneath. Do you do denim on denim though?
ReplyDeleteI know the about the "denim shirt", the cosiness makes you wear it always.
