a pop of Coach at NYFW...

Topshop military shirt; c/o James Jeans 'twiggy;' Star-Ling heels; Ray-Ban shades; c/o Coach clutch; Michael Kors watch; Kenneth Jay Lane & Amanda Pearl bracelets; NARS heat wave lipstick.

And so, it has begun. New York Fashion Week is here again - and I'm both excited, exhausted - giddy and jaded. The sartorial pageantry that takes place at Lincoln Center and Milk Studios as well as various other locations around Manhattan is fun to see - and honestly - fun to participate in. No, I'm not going to have my photo taken by 50 flocking street style photographers, but doesn't my mug in the above photo totally make you think otherwise? I'm taking myself so seriously.

I kicked off the week with Amanda at the BCBG Max Azria show uptown at Lincoln Center. It was quite a spectacle, and the tents were filled with more fashion and style bloggers than any season I had seen before. Interesting, no? It was a great chance for me to see friends visiting from around the country and catch up with some of the darling ladies I finally got to meet at this year's #IFBcon!

With Krystal from This Time Tomorrow.

One of the lovely ladies (and amazingly stylish bloggers) I'd been dying to meet was Krystal of This Time Tomorrow. She spoke on one of our panels at the conference, and she's just as much of treat in person as you'd imagine.

Also, I have to tell you guys something. I am newly converted to the cult of bright lips. It is a revelation. Why (Why!?) have I been afraid and unwilling to try lipstick, pretty much my whole life? It's something about the hassle of re-applying, the precision involved, the potential for it to be on your teeth - it was too high maintenance for me. I was talking about this with Jenni at the conference, and she said, "Wearing lipstick is a full-time job." And she's right. And I love it. I feel grown up. I feel sophisticated. I feel feminine.

In a feat of matchy-not-that-blatently-matchy, my new love, NARS 'heat wave' paired perfectly with this Coach legacy clutch. When it arrived last week I knew it would be the perfect structured, classic but punchy piece to finish off my #NYFW wardrobe. It's supposed to hold an iPad (and it can), but it's perfect for all my various fashion-y necessities from press passes and my phone charger to lipstick (I had no idea) and Band-Aids (a must).

PS - I finally cut my hair! WoOOooOO!
