{PLAYLIST} HOT JAMS FOR A HEAT WAVE...

You guys, it's hot. Like, not the "Oh, I went to school in Arizona and this hot dry desert air is actually super good for my skin" kind of hot, but the "How is this real the air is so heavy it's making my brain slower and everything is sticking to me" kind of hot.

We experience these heat waves on and off all summer, every summer - but that certainly doesn't make them any less brutal when you're trapped in Manhattan with no relief but the measly A/C unit by your bed. (If you have central air - holler at a blogger, I'm coming over.)

What's a girl to do, musically speaking, that is?

1. Try and soothe the sweat into submission with mopey, moody, slow-as-molasses songs.

2. Acknowledge that you know what? Hot damn, this is summer. We whined and complained in anticipation the entire rest of the year, so we better get on board or get over it. Let's f*cking jam.

So on that note, here's what I've been listening to of late. While running errands, commuting, working, working out, partying, cleaning, blogging - these are my mid-summer songs.

This playlist starts with my favorite tune off the new Hot Chip album and keeps up the pace for a while before slowing down into a more sultry - perhaps even sexy - vibe. After all, what's a heat wave without a little relief?
