{milestones} TWO YEARS IN...

As of Saturday, June 16th, I've officially been a resident of New York City for two years! Does that make me a New Yorker? I'm going to go with no, not even close. I still have so much to learn, places to eat, neighborhoods to explore and bars and restaurants to try.

I don't have quite the overwhelming feeling of "Oh my god I can't believe it" that I had when I reached my first full year here, but still - really, I can't believe it! This has been an incredible two years, full of more new friends, crazy adventures, travels, and serious "come to Jesus" moments than any other period in my life.

As much as I want to pat myself on the back and congratulate myself on how awesome and accomplished and brave I am for surviving The Big Bad City for this long, I owe everything to the friends and family who have made my life here so damn fabulous.

When I was in dire straights and through everything, my parents never stopped believing that I could achieve whatever I wanted here, and I think they might be right. My roommates have provided endless company, entertainment, and comfort and I would be a sad, lonely and extremely bored person with out them. All my friends (and neighbors) here are the endless champagne to the brunch of my life - it wouldn't be delicious or exciting or wild and amazing without them.

Here's to an undetermined amount of years more in the city that never sleeps... Happy anniversary New York City, I love you!
