meet me at sunset...

This is just a little PSA from your friend Taylor: I am obsessed with my new (self-done) manicure. I'm a meticulous perfectionist to the point of compulsion when it comes to doing my nails, and practically a raving lunatic when it comes to choosing a color. My coworkers have deemed me what they call a "polish purist." I'm pretty much anti-trend and anti-nail art anything.

Our friend Alli was down visiting from Boston over the weekend and she was wearing the most perfect shade of orange-y red polish. Knowing that it was Essie we narrowed down our options, scanned the shelves at Duane Reade and matched hers to 'meet me at sunset.'

This color happens to be very on trend this season, but it also just looks really great. I wanted something more fun and vibrant than the deeper, more classic Butter London and O.P.I. reds that I wear regularly, without getting too out there. This did the trick. It looks great now, but will be perfect with a little summer tan.

Additionally, I'm really pleased with Essie. For whatever reason I've been sort of a die-hard O.P.I. girl for years (I think it's because I like the polish names). This color goes on thick and slick, and really hits its stride in the 3rd coat. They have made a convert out of me yet.

[Note: it's not even a little bit as orange as it looks in this image from the Essie site.]

  2. Cute color! I agree that every girl has been hooked on OPI since a young age, myself included, but Essie and Butter London have managed to weasel their way into my collection lately.
