Monday blues got you down? Listen to this!

Are you guys having one of those Mondays, too? Saturday night me, my roommates and what felt like just about everyone we know had a (rather boisterous) party at our apartment then headed down to the LES to Gallery Bar where our downstairs neighbor (and good friend) Taylor was DJing. We danced, we cocktailed, we danced some more. It was an epic night that completely ruined my Sunday but left me wondering how I ever had any fun before I moved to NYC.

So now I'm at my desk and feeling like I got hit by a bus, totally exhausted and ready to do it all over again. I hate letting Mondays get the best of me, so sometimes instead of keeping things low-key and office-appropriate, sometimes I have to just put in my headphones and have a little desk rave while I work. So basically these are most of the songs at the top of my pre-party (and after-party) playlist at the moment, which I have now re-dubbed the "Monday Blues Mix." In the words of the great Hailey Tully, some say why, I say why not.

  1. Rihanna ft. Calvin Harris - We Found Love
  2. David Guetta ft. Sia - Titanium
  3. Bag Raiders - Shooting Stars
  4. Foster the People - Houdini (RAC Remix)
  5. Lifelike - Love Emulator (Visitor Remix)
  6. Florence + The Machine - Shake It Out (Benny Benassi Remix)
  7. Crystal Castles ft. Robert Smith - Not In Love
  8. Outasight - Tonight Is The Night
  9. Tiesto ft. Tegan & Sara - Feel It In My Bones
  10. Atlas Genius - Trojans
  11. M83 - Midnight City
  12. The Dirty Tees ft. Natasha Bedingfield - Miracle (Fragma Cover)
  13. Body Language - You Can (Star Slinger Remix)
  14. Ra Ra Riot - Boy (RAC Remix)
  15. College - Real Hero
I couldn't find all the songs on Grooveshark, but what I did, you can listen to here! [The rest you can definitely find on Hype Machine.]

Grab a cup of coffee, turn up the jams, and tell the Monday blues to go bother someone else.

*As always, I owe a round of thanks to all my music-savvy friends who bring me fresh new jams on the regular. Megan gets particular snaps for contributions to this round.

PS: I cannot, I repeat, cannot stop listening to the Rihanna and Calvin Harris song or Sia and David Guetta. Great voices + great DJs = infectious and addicting songs.
