{get in the know} fashion news you need now...

There are lots of things buzzing around the internets right now... Here's what you should be reading:

  • Finally! A juicy, you-can-sink-your-teeth-into-it article about Tom Ford's new women's line. Mr. Ford has been supremely secretive about this venture, and of course, when it was time to talk, he only spoke to Vogue. Check out the article and slideshow (photos by Steven Meisel, swoon) on Vogue.com.
  • In a "we all knew this day would come" move, Google will launch its fashion and shopping initiative, boutiques.com before the year is out, and they're kicking things off with a party in NYC on Wednesday. Along with linking up to sites like Shopbop, apparently the site will offer curated selections based on stylists and celebrity looks. Try to piece it together through articles here, here and here. No doubt there will be a flood of answers come Thursday morning.
  • Teenage-and-super-influential fashion blogger Tavi (Style Rookie) is collaborating with the founding editor of the defunct teen magazine Sassy (1988 - 1996) to launch a website (plus 3 print issues per year) for "an audience of wallflower-y teenage girls." Get the deets on The Cut.
  • Rodarte designers Laura and Kate Mulleavy designed the ballet costumes for Darren Aronofsky's new film, Black Swan, starring Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis. Fashionologie has the scoop.
