tgif: the playlist vol. 4 {Empire State of Mind}

So here I am, staring down the barrel at my last weekend in Seattle for a very long time. A friend recently asked me if I was feeling nostalgic yet, and you know what? I'm just not. This move has been nearly two years in the making, and now that it's just five days away, I feel like I'm at the start of a cross-country race (I was a runner in my high school days). I'm standing at the starting line, nervous as hell, feeling like I might puke, but just itching for that gun to go off. I'm ready to see how far and how fast my legs can carry me, and I know my friends and family are cheering me on as I go.

Pretty good metaphor, eh? Anyway, like I said, not very nostalgic. I've been developing a little "NYC" playlist in my iTunes for a few months now. I figure now is as good a time as any to share it with you, on the eve of the weekend when I'll be listening to it over and over again while packing and driving all over town getting ready. It's full of songs that make me think of New York, are about New York or just get me plain excited for the move!
