tgif: the playlist vol. 2 {saturday morning}

I don't know yet what's in store for tonight (I rarely do until about 2 hours beforehand) but I can usually count on Saturday morning. If I'm not working, it's pretty much mandatory to rally a few troops and go out to a leisurely, delicious, brunch.

And nothing goes better with omlettes, breakfast potatoes, coffee and lots of bacon than really great music, am I right?

Here's a little list of my favorite "my head hurts a little, last night was wild, I need to chill and get happy and settle into the weekend" songs (in the key of Spring, obvi):

Slightly Stoopid - Sweet Honey

Pink Martini - Je Ne Veux Pas Travaille

Bon Iver - For Emma

Maroon 5 - Sunday Morning

Lemon Jelly - The Staunton Lick

The Kooks - She Moves in Her Own Way

Vampire Weekend - Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa

Paul Simon - Graceland

Pete Yorn & Scarlett Johannson - Relator

Owl City - Hello Seattle

Kings of Leon - Notion

Jack Johnson - Never Know

Fleetwood Mac - Never Going Back Again

The Format - Time Bomb

The Virgins - Love Is Colder Than Death

Jay-Z - Lost Ones

Camera Obscura - The Sweetest Thing

Al Green - Love & Happiness

The Beatles - Norwegian Wood

Bob Marley - Stir It Up

Dire Straits - Walk of Life

Great songs for driving to The Hi Spot on a sunny March morning, mixing mimosas and scrambling eggs at home, reading the paper or doing the crossword, you know... perfect Saturday things.

Hope you like :)
